PEBA-SB Printing Parameters

Settings and Parameters

Nozzle Temperature

210℃ to 260℃

Recomended settings

Print Bed Temperatures

60℃ to 100℃

Use higher temps for larger prints

Printing Speed

30 mm/s to 120 mm/s

Start with slow speeds and increase speeds as quality allows

First Layer Bed Adhesion Settings

Increase nozzle temp, reduce print speed, turn off fan

Increase nozzle temp 10℃, Reduce print speed to 30 mm/s, no fan for first layer. If needed, use a PVA based liquid adhesive (Magigoo or similar)

Cooling Fan

30% to 50%

Layer times over 100 seconds generally do not need fan cooling

Support Settings for Easy Removal

1.8 x layer height

Formula for top z gap setting, increase as needed for easy support removal

Printing, Drying, Storage Guidelines

Filament Drying

70℃ to 80℃ for 8 to 12 hours

Dry filament prior to printing

Storage During Printing

Dry box or dryer is recommended

For best results print filament from a dryer or dry box, especially on long prints

Storage When not in Use

Dry box, dryer, or vacuum-sealed bag with desiccant

Keep filament in a humidity-controlled containment. PEBA is hygroscopic

Enclosure Requirements

Recommended but not required

Enclosures are recommended, especially for large prints

AMS / MMS Compatibility

Not Compatible

PEBA-SB is not recommended for use in AMS or MMS systems

Extruder Requirements

Bowden tube or Direct drive

With Bowden tube extruders, limit retraction and reduce print speeds

Hot End Requirements

All metal or PTFE lined

Limit nozzle temps to 240℃ or below to prevent damage to PTFE lined

Troubleshooting

Poor Print Quality

Dry filament @ 70℃ to 80℃ for 8 to 12 hours

Sputtering, hissing, or puffing during printing. Poor surface finish or visible steam coming from the extruder. Use humidity-controlled storage to prevent this.

Layer Separation or Cracking at Layer Lines

Reduce cooling fan speed

Poor layer adhesion is a good indicator of excessive fan cooling

Difficulty Removing Supports

Increase top Z gap

1.8 to 2 times the layer height is a good starting point

Excessive Stringing

Increase retraction or reduce nozzle temperatures

Retraction distance of up to 1mm is common
